Google Adwords allows businesses to quickly promote their website online without using search engine optimisation techniques. An adword campaign needs to be properly managed because every click costs money and by choosing the wrong words, you are effectively fishing with the wrong bait. Choose the right words that match your products and services and you are more likely to draw customers that are interested in buying your product and service.

 Cheaper than other forms of advertising.  Click fraud needs to be factored in to any cost benefit of using adwords. Not every click is going to be a real customer. Spammers, your competition, students, researchers, automated robots may click on your ad
 Choose the right keyword phrases and you target a user that is interested in your product or service. Choose the wrong keywords or set up your campaign incorrectly and you may end up with a disproportionate number of visitors that may be looking for a "free" solution or are looking for a very different product or service. You end up paying a website visitor that has very little interest in buying your product or service.
 Premium listings can be more prominent and effective if properly worded Right hand side ads, not as prominent as natural search results
